BMR Calculator

Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) - the number of calories your body burns at rest.

About BMR

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories your body needs to maintain basic life-sustaining functions like breathing, circulation, and cell production while at complete rest.

Formulas Used
Mifflin-St Jeor Equation (Recommended)

Men: BMR = (10 x weight in kg) + (6.25 x height in cm) - (5 x age) + 5

Women: BMR = (10 x weight in kg) + (6.25 x height in cm) - (5 x age) - 161

Harris-Benedict Equation (Original)

Men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 x weight in kg) + (4.799 x height in cm) - (5.677 x age)

Women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 x weight in kg) + (3.098 x height in cm) - (4.330 x age)

TDEE Activity Multipliers
  • Sedentary: BMR x 1.2 (little or no exercise)
  • Lightly Active: BMR x 1.375 (light exercise 1-3 days/week)
  • Moderately Active: BMR x 1.55 (moderate exercise 3-5 days/week)
  • Very Active: BMR x 1.725 (hard exercise 6-7 days/week)
  • Extra Active: BMR x 1.9 (very hard exercise & physical job)
Note: BMR calculations are estimates. Individual metabolism can vary based on genetics, muscle mass, hormones, and other factors.
